We would love to have you join us for this 7-week online Bible study.
Here’s a little more about What Love Is:
The Letters of 1, 2 & 3 John were written to encourage followers of Jesus to remain faithful to the truth. Believers are challenged to look at contrasting themes such as walking in the light instead of darkness, truth versus lies and deception, loving God more than loving the world, and the meaning of true fellowship and community rather than shallowness.
This 7-session study not only reveals the heart of John but also the heart of Jesus. A great addition to The Living Room Series, this study includes recipes and a more relational approach.

We are excited to bring this study into an online format and hope you’ll consider studying with us.
Here’s how the online study will work:
- Purchase a copy of What Love Is study book here.
- See exclusive online study videos from Kelly. Click each session below.
A note about the Bible study videos
What Love Is has optional video downloads available here for purchase online. These videos are not the same as the free videos available here on the blog. The videos for purchase are more like teaching videos and dive deeper into the topic of each session. They are the videos that go with the group time in the Bible study book. We recommend them if you want to dive deeper into Kelly’s teaching on Scripture.

I’ve done Kelly’s studies in church and with the Siestas before. I adore them. As a member of the book launch team, I was thrilled to see this oppportunity come up to study when and as I can fit it in. Thanks Beth and Lifeway! And Kelly!
I am so excited!! I first met Kelly in 2008 at a Women’s leadership conference and I fell in love with her. I have had several opportunities to hear her speak at conferences. God has truly blessed her and I have been blessed by her studies “No Other Gods” “Nehemiah” “Ruth” and I have read the “Fitting Room” too. I invited 2 other friends to join me and I picked up the books today. I can’t wait to dig into this study to see what God is saying to me. This will be my first online study.
How long will the videos be available after purchase? I will be doing both studies this summer and want to do them consecutively if the videos will be available. Thanks
Both the free online videos and those for purchase will be available indefinitely. We don’t have plans to take the online study videos down. Those you pay for will download to your computer and be available there whenever.
Am I buying the actual book or the workbook?
Patty, there is only one book for What Love Is, which makes it so easy! It is the workbook (or member book, or Bible Study Book—it goes by different names).
I am looking forward to this study! I am purchasing my book this weekend!
I want to do the bible study in the fall since I am already doing one this summer. Where would I go to access the posts this fall?
Rachel, you will be able to find the study on this blog. We’re working on getting a separate page for our online studies so that they’ll be easier to find, but it will still be through LifeWay.com/allaccess.
I just signed up and I am ready to start. I have attended a women’s conference that Kelly spoke at and enjoyed it tremendously. I have not done her bible studies, so with anticipation I cannot wait to see what God will teach me through this study.
Can’t wait to start this study. I did the Ruth study at a local church and loved it!! I also was able to see Kelly in person and fell in love with her spirit! summers are slow for me so to be able to do this study will be a blessing!!!
4 of us are going to meet in our home and 1 is going to try to join from the road as they are off to a new adventure of full time Rving : ) We have heard nothing but good about Kelly study cant wait. Off to order our books !
We’ve LOVED the Kelly Minter studies we’ve done so far (including Ruth, Nehemiah & No Other Gods)!!
I haven’t looked at the summer online studies before & have logistical questions…
How long do you plan for each session?
– How long are the video messages from the blog? I’m considering combining these with the videos available with the regular study (which I see are each 25-30 min long)
– Is there any provided/suggested structure? …just the amount of time you wish to take to answer the online questions? …or… follow along in the regular member guide book?
(I’m also looking for a sample of the member guide book to get an idea of how long each session should be.)
Thanks so much!
This is so exciting! It is totally up to you as to how you structure your time together. The regular video messages are 25-30 minutes long—you are correct. The blog messages are more in the 5-10 minute range. I would probably do the blog videos after the regular videos. The blog videos include some additional insight by Kelly and a few questions from that week’s homework. It is kind of like she is leading your group. You might even pause the video and answer the question among your group before continuing.
You can get a sample of the first session of the member book here.
