Each month, you’ll hear from one of us what we’re reading and a little bit about the book. Enjoy!
I recently read Giddy Up, Eunice by Sophie Hudson and it actually had me LOL’ing.
Giddy Up, Eunice is a wake-up call for women to recognize how much they need each other. It’s so easy for us as women to often focus on our differences, from opposing opinions on whether leggings are pants to parenting styles and career goals, forgetting that we have more in common than we realize.
In Giddy Up, Eunice, Sophie Hudson challenges women to open their eyes and step out of their same-age, same-stage relationships and look at the women God has placed in their lives.
You will laugh while being challenged to learn and grow from other women, especially women who are not just the same as you. “We can side step it all we want to, and we can fill up our days with stuff that doesn’t really matter, but there’s no getting around how much women need each other,” said Hudson. Life can be difficult, but is more difficult if you try to go it alone. In Giddy Up, Eunice, Sophie Hudson sends up a rallying cry for women everywhere to connect with other women, accepting their connection for the gift of love it is.
This book is for you if:
- You are looking for a mentor, but have no clue how to go about finding one
- You are seeking meaningful relationships with other women
- You want to find a way to encourage and celebrate the women in you life
- You just need some me time and want to say, “me too” and laugh for a bit
- If you need to be reminded of your importance, your influence and your calling
You don’t have to look far to find someone—from the millennial in your church, to the woman who teaches your Sunday School class, to the women in your neighborhood—who need the encouragement and strength that comes from other women.
At every age and stage of life, women need other women who will listen, confirm, teach, bless and pray.
Who will that someone be in your life? Whether that person is beside you, behind you, or in front of you, Giddy Up, Eunice, will take you beyond your own circle and out into a world of women who need you—and whom you need.
Just like Sophie says, “Saddle up, sister. This is going to be fun!”
