Real talk: Sometimes quiet time is hard.
We’re short on time, energy, and motivation. Unfortunately, time alone with God is one of the first things to get booted out of the schedule. Even if we make time for quiet time, sometimes our brains are too preoccupied with a running to-do list that we can’t be still before Him. Busyness is a real factor that greatly affects quiet time.
What about seasons of spiritual dryness? Sometimes we sit down and don’t even know where to begin, feeling like God is so far away that no matter what we read or pray it won’t make a difference.
Other times we open up our Bibles and don’t understand how in the world Hezekiah‘s life story is supposed to help us get through today’s stresses of work and family and life. Or maybe after reading that passage a dozen times, it doesn’t seem to have anything new to say.
Again: Sometimes quiet time is hard.
We get it. If quiet time is hard for you, that doesn’t mean you are a terrible Christian! We want you to know that we have all been there. Our goal is to serve you in the places you need it most, so we want to hear from you about your quiet time. When we create resources, blog posts, events, and everything in between, we want to meet you where you are. So answer these 3 questions to let us know where you are with quiet time right now.
It’s a joy to serve you, friends. Thank you for being part of the Lifeway Women community.
P.S. If quiet time is easy for you, that is wonderful! Let us know in the comments what is working for you.
