Because we’re celebrating the release of To Have & To Hold this week, we decided to dedicate this We Love Wednesday to Byron and Carla Weathersbee! We’ll link to a few things they’re loving right now.
Bryon loves Carla’s pancakes. He says they’re the BEST pancakes he’s ever eaten. Here’s the recipe:
Mama Carla’s Pancakes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Directions:
Mix ingredients. Beat until smooth. Add 4 teaspoons baking powder. Beat until smooth. Let set 3-4 minutes. Make sure griddle/skillet is rubbed with oil. Test by putting a drop of water in it. If it dances, it is ready.
Dip out ¼ cup or less into hot griddle/skillet and flip only once.
Byron and Carla both love Gary Thomas, especially his books, Sacred Marriage, Cherish, and Sacred Pathways.
The Weathersbees love to laugh and not take themselves so seriously. That’s why they (mainly Byron) love Tripp and Tyler. Here’s one of their favorite videos.
Recently, Byron and Carla spent time in Uganda where they loved spending time at Restoration Gateway, a place build to join Christ in restoring peace and healing wounds among vulnerable children and war-torn people of Northern Uganda.
The Weathersbees also love their new job helping people get away, connect, and renew at Summers Mill Retreat and Conference Center.
Carla loves Salado Blend Coffee.
Finally, Byron and Carla love their family. Two of their three children were married within six weeks of each other! Byron wrote a blog post about his daughter’s wedding and his son’s wedding for Lifeway Men.
