This monthly feature will give you the inside scoop on our events from backstage passes to interviews with our speakers, here’s what happens In Any Event.
Washington D.C., the heart of our nation’s government, is the source of much angst and confusion these days. Angry and embittered words fly like a cold force down the streets that connect our nation’s most famous monuments and buildings. But spring is coming. And on April 7, God is bringing His Word like a warm breath of fresh air to a few hundred women who will choose to attend The Word Alive Gala Event at the Museum of the Bible.
No doubt many of you have seen or heard about the all-new Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. I was stunned when I saw the renderings last year and took the virtual tour. I’m so excited about the opportunity to offer this one-of-a kind event in this spectacular new building.
When you come to The Word Alive Gala, you can expect to get a sneak peek of the museum just by being in the building. But you should know that your day at this event is going to be jam-packed from start to finish.
First, you’ll be hosted by the Lifeway team and handed your journal and experience items for the day. These little treasures are going to be woven into the event throughout the day, gifting you with a whole new dimension of biblical culture.
Then, you’ll make your way to the World Stage, a state-of-the-art theatre that is sure to bring the sights and sounds of the Bible to life. Lysa TerKeurst will teach the Bible from experience and insights gained from traveling and studying in Israel. Her knowledge and application of the Word are stunning. The experience items in your hands and the surrounding environment will wrap you up in His Word.
The talented Kelly Minter and her band will lead worship and help integrate the music with Lysa’s teaching. It will be an all-encompassing, sensory experience.
This is NOT your normal women’s event. The teaching and worship are woven seamlessly into a unique and relevant experience for the attendee. You should come expecting two things: first, a very different kind of event in an exceptional setting, and second, that God will speak through His Word and worship.
You’ll also have time to see a bit of the city while you go out for lunch to a local restaurant, coffee shop, or café of your choice. You’ll enjoy the springtime air and the chance to connect with those you came with or maybe a few new friends.
The afternoon will find you back at the World Stage for more The Word Alive teaching before an afternoon break to prepare for the Gala Dinner. This break will provide you a necessary “breather” to process the event content as you ready for dinner with our group.
We hope it will be fun to dress up a little (or a lot), and we know the four-course dinner is going to be amazing! As you walk through the museum to the Gathering Room, you’ll be catching spectacular glimpses of the nation’s capitol with all its stunning architecture. Lysa and Kelly will be among the dinner guests attending. We can’t wait to share it with you and to hear the band and Kelly share her thoughts with us.
Make sure you finish dinner with some delicious coffee. You won’t want to be sleepy during the final session with Lysa and Kelly as they wrap up an incredible day of experiencing God’s Word in a way that’s fresh and compelling. We can’t wait to see all that God will do in our hearts on April 7.
And we want you to be a part of it! Will you join us? I’m certain that someone in your life would be profoundly impacted by attending with you. Is it your sister, friend, daughter, co-worker? Whoever God is moving you to invite – do it TODAY. This event has limited seating, so we don’t want you to miss out! Click here to register.
I’ll meet you in Washington D.C. I’ll be the girl in the heels; it’s a Gala, after all!
P.S. You’ll want to make sure to book a tour of the Museum of the Bible the day before or after the event.
