Do you listen to audiobooks, download to your Kindle, or dust off a good old fashioned paperback now and then? January is a great time to set some reading goals for the year. And while books and Bible studies are different, we totally think they both count! Whether your reading/studying goal this year is 4, 12, 52, or 100 books, here are 20 ideas to help you hit your target. (Head to the end of this post for a fun printable of this list too!)
- Read a book (you already own!) from your TBR pile
- Complete a Bible study based on a book of the Bible
- Step out of your comfort zone—select a book of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry to round out your reading list
- Complete a Bible study by a new-to-you author
- Read a book by a local author
- Read a book of the Bible you haven’t visited in a while (or ever!)
- Read a book published in the year you were born
- Redo a favorite Bible study with a new group of women
- Read a leadership book recommended by your pastor or boss
- Read a book that challenges your thinking (maybe one you disagree with!)
- Read (or reread) a classic—try something published before 1950
- Read a book by an author from a different country than you
- Read the Bible using a reading plan like Know His Word
- Read a memoir
- Read a book borrowed from the library or a friend
- Reread a book you loved when you were younger
- Ask your best friend to select your next read
- Read a book that’s author has the same first name as you
- Read a YA fiction book, selection from a middle or high school reading list, or a children’s book (even if you don’t have kids)
- Join a Bible study somewhere new
