In 2020, we’re providing a monthly reading plan centered around our blog theme for 2020: Life Connections. We wanted to go ahead and provide the July reading plan for those of you that like to print it out and have it ready for the first day of the month!
We’re looking over what we planned for this month and smiling. God is so faithful and good to us. We said this last month, but we didn’t know what the year would hold when we sat down last year to discuss and plot out a reading plan for 2020. We didn’t know how much we would all need to read what God has said about change and stress.
This month, we planned to read stories of changes and stressful situations in the Bible. We will look at how God’s people reacted throughout time to moments when they’re asked to leave the familiar and secure to follow His will and plans. Sometimes, like all of us humans, they did not react in a godly way. But through it all, God was using them for His glory and their own good.
One phrase that stuck out as we put together this month’s reading list is from the story of Joseph. When we read Genesis 39, we’ll read about a time of major change in Joseph’s life, a time when his stress level must have been at an all time high. But a phrase that is repeated in the chapter is simply, “But the Lord was with Joseph.” God was with Joseph and He’s with us today, no matter what is happening in our lives.
