We had so much fun at the Lifeway Women Live simulcast last weekend! We had a small crowd at the live event in Nashville and enjoyed the fellowship of eighteen thousand women from all over the globe via simulcast. We had ten countries and forty-nine states represented!
If you weren’t able to join us on April 17, have no fear—you can still participate in the event through June 17! Believe us when we say you will be encouraged by this day of teaching, worship, and laughter. Learn more here.
Here’s a glimpse of the event, along with some downloadable phone backgrounds with quotes from the event so you can stay encouraged on the go!
We kicked off the event with powerful worship with Austin Stone Worship! We loved having this band here to lead us into the presence of the Lord throughout the event.
Kristi McLelland brought us our first message for the day from John 5:1-6, and together we were reminded that the Lord wants to heal us if we are willing to step into the healing He offers.
Next up, we heard from Ruth Chou Simons, who brought us a word from Colossians 3:15-17. Ruth asked us to closely examine all that we look toward to satisfy us other than the Lord, and we were reminded that no matter what our chosen distraction is, the Word of God is better.
We were so grateful that our sponsors Compassion and Operation Christmas Child could join us for the day! It was a blessing to learn about their work releasing people from poverty in Jesus’ name and spreading the love of God throughout the world by packing shoeboxes and to learn how we can get involved in their life-changing work.
Kelly Minter taught from Mark 7:24-30 about the woman who asked for just a metaphorical crumb from Jesus’ table to heal her daughter. Kelly reminded us that the Lord gives us a feast, but even a crumb from God’s table is more than enough.
We loved having our special guests, Point of Grace, join us to share songs and stories! We heard testimonies from them about ways they’ve seen God’s faithfulness, grace, and love transform their hearts over the years. We had so much fun throwing it back with some of our favorite Point of Grace songs from the ’90s!
We were thrilled Lisa Harper was able to join us after her recent stay in the hospital! Lisa shared a powerful message about the kindness of God, His compassion toward us, and how nothing in our lives disqualifies us from His grace. We saw eight women in the live audience make a commitment to Christ, and we know God was working in the hearts of women in the simulcast audience as well. Praise God for His life-transforming grace!
We are grateful Nancy Guthrie was able to join us in place of Jamie Ivey, who had a recent COVID-19 diagnosis. As we pray for the continued healing of Jamie and her family, we are thankful for Nancy’s flexibility and willingness to join us at the last minute! Nancy captivated us all as she talked about the great love story of Scripture. We saw God’s great love for His people despite the unfaithfulness of His bride, and we were reminded that God loves us with an eternal love that will not pass away.
A few of our speakers joined us for a short Q&A, with questions gathered from you all via Instagram®!
We ended the day with Jackie Hill Perry, who brought us a message about the power of the tongue from James 3. Through Scripture, she showed us why we need to repent for the ways we’ve used this powerful tool to tear down instead of build up and to use our words to worship Christ in the way we speak to and about one another.
What a fantastic day! We loved worshiping and learning with each of you. If you joined us in person or via simulcast, we’d love to hear from you! Comment below with the highlight of your day.
